Mar 30, 2007. The barrel has Ted Williams Model 100 on it. I have never found a good source for house brand serial numbers but I would venture a guess that the Ted Williams product at sears was mid to late 60's,early 70's. Sorry i didn't see he stated model 100 so i guess this is the winchester 100 semi-auto. Winchester 1200. Relabeled as the 200 for Sears. Usually priced around $200 in the condition that your photograph indicates. Nice gun for a house gun. Not bad for upland hunting. Make: Ted Williams (Winchester built for Sears) Model: 100 ('94) Action: Lever; Serial number: V66193; Finish: The bluing is in fair condition. We see much of the original bluing in great shape but there are some rust spots over all. Caliber: 30-30; Barrel Length: 20' Bore Condition: Excellent - clean and shiny with sharp rifling.
I have a Sears Model 100 (a Ted Williams 94 made for Sears) serial number: V160XXX.Anybody know how to date this thing? Thanks in advance.I had forgotten about Teddy Baseball and the Sears connection with Winchester. He was one of my heroes, and I've always liked the looks of the Winchester 94. Maybe I'll find one in the shop after hunting season. But I digress. A search on this forum found a link to a site that gives dates of manufacture (Savage 99 - go figure). Anyway, I put in your serial number as ending digits 001 and 999 and both came back 1982.Link isThe Old Guy.
- Jan 25, 1997 In Article Re: What's a'Ted Williams' Shotgun. Check the serial number. Following is a list of manufacturers based on the first three numbers of the serial number. BTW there are fourteen differnet manufacturers listed for Sears. The most common are: 273 = Olin Corp., Win. 103 = Marlin.
- The highest serial number I have seen is Q139463 probably near the end of the Ted Williams production run which ended in 1978. I have been trying to figure production dates by checking gun auctions and gathering barrel codes and serial numbers and original owner info on the 200 and 300 Ted Williams.

I noticed she had a rifle in her hand as she stormed out. I turned around and followed her. I asked her what she had and what she was asking for it. She said it was a 'Jed Williams' rifle that belonged to her father before he passed. The pawn shop offered her $30 for it. She said she had to get $60. I gladly paid her and she went on her way. I had no idea what this thing was, I had never owned a lever gun before but gave my buddy a call. He laughed out loud when I told him what she said it was. He said 'you mean TED Williams'? Long story short, it's a great gun. Cycles great and keeps a nice tight grouping. I would not hesitate to buy another one, even I I did have to pay more than $60 for it ; ) --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=39.511741,-84.389686 |
